Grade 7 Science students have been studying bridge designs. Their studies have included various types of bridges and bridge shapes that are used in architecture to maximize strength and minimize the effects of roll, wind stress, and of course, gravity. These pictures are from our grade 7 science classes where students designed, built, and tested the strength of their bridges that were constructed of popsicle sticks and hot glue. The students worked in groups and had approximately 200 popsicle sticks to work with, a hot glue gun, and a design from their imagination and study of bridges.
